Overview

This project involved creating a book art design dedicated to Bridget Riley, the influential optical illusion artist celebrated for her black-and-white geometric compositions. The design aimed to capture Riley’s exploration of perception by using typography to evoke a sense of shifting movement, echoing the visual effects that define her work. Through contrasting black-and-white patterns, the book art design produces an illusion of depth and rhythm, inviting readers to experience text as a dynamic, visual element. The goal was to make the text feel alive and part of a visual experience, much like Riley’s work. Ultimately, this approach honors Riley’s artistry while also experimenting with typography to create optical illusions.
